Pinched by Nevena was born from a love of throwing methodically on the wheel and the endless possibilities of glaze experimentation.

Each piece is individually crafted and fired using gas reduction, a process that creates a beautiful and unpredictable range of effects within the glazes. As a result, no two pieces are ever quite the same, with every firing revealing its own unique colours, textures and character.

Over time, Nevena’s practice has evolved to include developing her own glaze recipes, allowing her to explore colour, movement and variation and create the distinctive, colourful collection that defines Pinched.

Nevena began her ceramic journey in 2016, attending classes and short courses in Sydney. After spending two years falling in love with the process of throwing on the wheel and refining her craft, she founded Pinched by Nevena as a small ceramics business, creating individual and bespoke pieces made to be both functional and beautiful.

Today, each Pinched piece reflects a balance of considered craftsmanship and the unpredictable nature of the firing process — celebrating the individuality that makes handmade ceramics so special.
